REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

SOLID WASTE HAULING AND DISPOSAL SERVICES

The Pasco County Purchasing Department will receive sealed proposals until 2:00 p.m., local time (our clock), on November 17, 2006, in the Pasco County Purchasing Department, 8919 Government Drive, New Port Richey, Florida. Proposals received after this time will not be accepted. Proposals will be publicly opened and read at the above-stated time and date, disclosing only the names of the Offerors. All interested parties are invited to attend.

A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held in the Purchasing Department Conference Room at 8919 Government Drive, New Port Richey, Florida on October 26, 2006 at 10:00 A.m. Site inspections may be made following this meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to allow potential Offerors an opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification if necessary. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

The County wishes to conserve the remaining space in the County’s landfill. The County currently uses its own waste-to-energy facility to combust the County’s Acceptable Waste. Bypass waste and ash are being disposed of in the County’s landfill. However, given the growth in the County, the County wishes to explore having some or all of the waste from the County’s East Pasco Transfer Station, which is located at 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City, Florida, be transported and disposed of at a non-County facility.

The Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received.
